Your reverse robin au is such an odd take on Tim? I don't detest it though? I am... confused

Yep I GET TO TALK ABOUT TIM. Warning that this is probably going to be long, considering Reverse Robin!Tim is probably one of the most complicated characters I've ever written, psychologically. Considering Tim is my favorite character in comics, just behind Bart Allen, and I've been in dearest with him since I was 9. Also I'm going to talk about how we write comic book fanfic I am SO lamentable you've unleashed a kraken. I'll put a cut subsequently considering Tumblr's bugging and non letting me. Content alarm for discussions of suicide, cocky-damage, PTSD, drug and alcohol mentions, habit, and homicidal urges.

 How practice we write comic volume fanfic? It's tremendously difficult. Specially for the Batfam: it's such a lather opera, if y'all take every unmarried little thing as canon everybody ends up a sociopath. In comics, Bruce has PUNCHED Dick in catechism. So we make up our fanon. Just if we go along too closely to fanon, then you end up with adequately unrecognizable characters, which is no fun to read. And...a lot of Batfamily fanfic is merely Bruce every bit a neat dad with a hoard of adorable children. It's boring to me.  And then what do we do? Well, I like to go on a character recognizable while still kind of doing what I want and what I find most nuanced and realistic. You tin't completely divorce from canon, just you really should merely keep to the essentials of the character. This is subjective - I detect it essential to Bruce that he'southward not really a dandy parent, merely he's constantly trying and working on it. Not everyone feels that way - valid.

 And then what I consider essential to Tim is this: he's a socially awkward nerd. He always feels extraneous and neglected, because he's insecure, because he was a victim of childhood neglect. For well-nigh of his life, he really doesn't consider himself Bruce'south child. He'due south crazy intelligent and good with computers. He'south a better detective than Bruce. He has a ton of friends who love him very much, but he shows a different face to them than to his family. He has lost basically everybody he has ever cared almost at one indicate or another and only kinda gotten on with his life, which if you want to be realistic about information technology was probably hugely traumatizing and a huge sign that Tim kind of boxes himself away. That's Tim to me. Everything else is flexible. And although Tim in the Opposite Robin AU is a Complete FUCKING Bedlamite, he is still all of those things.

 I've done it differently in other roleswap aus, but the idea backside the Reverse Robin is that everybody is one-half themselves, half who they were switched with. Damian is reserved and cold, merely he is just as much 'oldest daughter syndrome' as Dick. Jason is intellectual and rough (which is catechism!), but he is just every bit much of a mediator who feels similar he has to single-handedly keep the family unit together as Tim (which is canon especially in very early Tim - check Knightfall, the stupid Gotham Earthquake thing, and his introduction). Dick is loving and hyper, but he's just as reserved and resentful and alien to America as Damian. So, Tim is all of the things I listed, so I tin institute that he'south basically Tim. But he is as batshit crazy as Red Hood!Jason. He'due south simply as fell, resentful, cocky-harming, desperate, alienated, attention-seeking, groomed by Talia and Ra's, and simply bugfuck insane because of the Pit. He'south also been low-fundamental mentally sick his entire life due to his complete and full isolation and childhood fail. His life ended through torture and suicide. In 'the prophetic spring', he is at Jason's lowest point in his life - and his own.

 But, and this is of import, Tim as Red Hood does not work. Jason became a drug lord because he came from that groundwork. Tim's spoiled and rich. Jason had a motivation, a reason to live, a Bruce to hate and a Dick that always reached out. Tim doesn't have this. Tim is listless and purposeless - and I say several times that Tim is cosplaying this life. He's cosplaying wanting to impale his friends, being an addict, being a supervillain. Without Bruce, without that target of detest, Tim is lost. Without his dad, who loved him, Tim is lost.

 It's important to empathise that everything he does in 'the prophetic jump' in self-damage. He thinks of himself as a monster (considering Tim was raised past Bruce and he'south extremely rigidly moral, and he can't reconcile his morality with what he did while he was pit-mad), and as a result he wants everybody else in his life to think of himself as a monster. He wants to be hated as much every bit he hates himself, because at least that'southward real and validates his feelings. He thinks of himself equally the everyman of the low, so he performs his image of a spoiled party boy - the kind of person he's never been, and who he always hated, considering he thinks of himself equally the person who ruined Tim Drake, not Tim Drake. The drugs and booze are self harm (and I'd say, in my essential interp, that Tim has an addictive personality). Having sex is self-harm for him specifically because he's sexual practice-balky. Alienating everybody who ever loved him is self-harm. Practically begging Damian to put him in Arkham is cocky-harm. This is a twenty twelvemonth sometime unstable kid who wants to self-harm until he dies or his family kills him, because he is suicidal. He'southward however clinging on considering he doesn't want to do it himself, just if someone kills him no big deal, and if he overdoses he probably deserved it.

 It IS confusing! Every bit readers nosotros are used to traumatized characters who seek catharsis, affection, and safety. We want the hurt and the comfort. But I actually wanted to highlight how fucking ugly PTSD is. It can genuinely make you into a roughshod and hurtful person. Tim is suicidal and he responds by condign an addict, rejecting his family and friends then nobody can try to assist him, and lashing out nonstop because he wants to punish the people who love him for loving a monster. And because he wants to punish the people he blames for his death - Bruce and Damian. The Joker. But Bruce is expressionless and the Joker'south dead Damian isn't giving him the attention he wants...and so what does he practise? He's lost. And and so 'the prophetic jump' is the story of someone who is then fucking lost that he tries to destroy his ain life because he can't bring himself to terminate information technology once more.

 Promise that cleared stuff up. I actually love Tim. You probably didn't demand that amount of detail only I am psychically compelled to share these things...partly because most people take Tim's incredible trauma and just make him a beautiful woobie..no guys make him mean. People are mean sometimes. Fiction exaggerates and magnifies - and so many hurt people Desire to do the stuff Tim does, but their lives aren't a comic volume lather opera so they don't. I wanted to highlight that real pain. Thanks for request!!!

ok i know i said no more oversharing on tumblr dot com only. but! my best friend irl is a sweetheart but also our friendship was 100% forced and it definitely would not have even had a take a chance to happen outside of the circumstances in which it did and i beloved her i actually do no one gets me like she does but too my god is she a fucking elevate like i go that you accept to be patient with your depressed friends but in that location are only so many "everything is meaningless like whats the point i wanna die" jokes i can take you know and information technology seems to be the only thing she always talks about and she doesn't care about anything else and the about riveting conversation we've had in a years was about 3 months ago and information technology was about percy jackson and she doesn't actually seem to care about much else and the only other things our conversations are made of are either her complaining about inane things or reminiscing about a fourth dimension when we were actually, really friends and i know i'm the simply person in her life she considers a friend which is fucking sorry because i don't really like her all that much and it makes me want to hang around her anyway considering i just feel bad for her and equally much as i want to gently cut her out of my life ane. she'south the only person still in information technology and 2. the circumstances in which our friendship was forged are still circumstances i'm in and i know that they'll change in about two months when i move across the urban center and i know how i experience well-nigh her is subject to drastic changes from one moment to another on a scale of she'south-the-all-time-person-i-could-have-ever-met to skillful-fucking-god-i'm-about-to-commit-homicide and i go from genuinely loving her to genuinely despising her and i can't ever seem to stick to one but i love her but we don't have anything in mutual anymore but i love her merely i don't

Hello hello followers !! Cheers to the huge (? 😂) success of my Gorou smut I feel similar I've gotten loads of followers and I feel like information technology's time that I clear upward multiple things such as how to collaborate with i another :3 (I volition inform you guys about this in another post !!!)

This is the first time I've gotten such a huge (imo, IVE NEVER GOTTEN THIS MANY FOLLOWERS Help) amount of followers so idk what to do sifjskdkdn

Beginning of all!! I unfortunately won't be opening myself up for requests but all the same :( writing is smth complicated to me and it takes huge amount of endeavour, motivation and inspiration to fifty-fifty start writing something :/ this also explains my incredibly tedious uploads of posts. Nonetheless something I am more than willing to open myself upward to is submissions/asks !!!
